The Iron Bridge Sports Bar celebrated its Grand Opening with an Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, December 15. The Chamber welcomes Melissa and Rich Green to the Allegan business community. The Greens have changed the format of the Iron Bridge, and are committed to it being a sports-themed, family-friendly bar and grill.
A lot of work was put into the Iron Bridge Sports Bar and it looks fantastic! New tables and seating, fresh paint, and televisions everywhere so you can cheer on your favorite teams were all part of the project. A nice touch are areas featuring the local collegiate favorites – Western Michigan University, Michigan State University, and the University of Michigan. The area at the back of the restaurant celebrates the buildings venerable past. Old pictures and a menu from the building’s days as the Stables will bring back memories to patrons of a “certain age.” Happily, two of the three businesses that advertised on the back of that menu are still part of the Allegan business community. The centerpiece, however, sits on the mantle of the fireplace – the metal sign marking the structure’s year of construction that the Greens discovered tipped over on the roof during renovations. Oh, and next to fireplace is a great spot to enjoy a burger and a pint on a cold winter’s day.
Speaking of the menu, the Ribbon Cutting coincided with the release of the Iron Bridge Sports Bar’s full menu. The menu features an extensive selection of appetizers, generously-sized wraps, burgers, sandwiches, and entrée salads. The tap list features craft favorites, including Tall Louie, an all-Allegan coffee stout brewed by Millgrove Brewing Company with Mug Shots Coffeehouse’s Big House Blend
The reviews have been great, and if the large crowd of diners is any indication, the word has been spreading. You gotta check out the Iron Bridge Sports Bar.
Congratulations to the Greens.
