26th Annual Chamber Classic Golf Tournament: Portion of proceeds to support Safe Harbor’s Lighting The Way Campaign

After great consideration, the Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it is moving forward with its plans to host its 26th Annual Chamber Classic Golf Tournament at Cheshire Hills Golf Course on Thursday, June 25, 2020, with a 9:00 AM shotgun start.  We hope that you are able to join us as friends and colleagues, in camaraderie and celebration.

Prizes for the top three teams in each division, games of skill, lottery tree, event holes, and door prizes are all part of the fun.  Registration is $280 per foursome and includes 18-holes of golf with cart, and lunch.

Take advantage of the $320 VIP Package before Friday, June 12 and receive in addition to the above, four prepaid mulligans, 12 lottery tree tickets per golfer, and one bag of range balls for each golfer on the team (range balls courtesy of Cheshire Hills Golf Course).

Safe Harbor Children’s Advocacy Center will be a beneficiary of the Chamber Classic as the Chamber Board of Directors named the agency its nonprofit partner for 2020.  A portion of the event proceeds and specific on-course events will be donated to Safe Harbor’s Lighting The Way Capital Campaign.  Safe Harbor’s mission is, “Providing a lifeline to victims of child abuse and neglect.”  A component of other upcoming 2020 Chamber events will also benefit the agencies capital campaign efforts.

The Lighting The Way Campaign goal is $850,000 to be used to renovate a 6,000 square foot facility donated by Perrigo in November 2019.  The new space – triple the size of Safe Harbor’s current offices – will provide additional interview and counseling rooms to better accommodate the children served, a training room for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers, a medical suite, and team rooms and offices.  “This is a time of great need for Safe Harbor as they transform their building and agency to better serve and protect the children of Allegan and Barry Counties.  The Chamber is pleased to help them reach their goal.” said Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce board member, Kristy Milbocker.

The 2020 Chamber Classic is about friends, networking, golf, sunshine, perseverance, and fun!  The Chamber Classic Committee is working hard to make this our most memorable outing ever and we dearly hope that you will be able to join us at the Cheshire Hills Golf Course on Thursday, June 25.

COVID-19 Statement:  With ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19, we recognize that this situation is still fluid and we will strictly adhere to all directives of the Governor’s Office, its MI Safe Start Plan to re-engage the Michigan economy, and the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Golf courses opened up with restrictions the beginning of May so we are certain that we can play golf and that golf carts will be available for those who want or need them.  It is our hope to serve the traditional Prime Rib luncheon in the clubhouse after the round concludes.  Should restrictions persist to the event date, we are already having conversations with Cheshire Hills Golf Course for alternative meal delivery/social-distancing arrangements.  Cheshire Hills is always a great partner we will overcome whatever Coronavirus hurdles are thrown at us.
