The Allegan Lions Club host their annual Pancake Day on Saturday, October 20, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, located at 110 N. Cedar St. in Allegan. Yep: A new day, time, and location for this annual celebration of all things syrupy. Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee are on the menu, all for $5.00 (Kids: $3.00). There will also be a bake sale at the event.
Since 1945, the members of the Allegan Lions Club have dedicated their time, energy, and resources to the betterment of this community. The Lions Club motto, “We serve”, is evident in all of the clubs projects and events. Well-known for their long-standing efforts to promote sight, the Lions assist families in need with costs resulting from diabetes, macular degeneration, cataracts, vision impairment, and blindness through the funding of vision screenings, eye exams, and the provision of glasses and other aids for the visually impaired. Other local projects include support for music camp, college scholarships, summer tennis program, Boy Scouts of America, Paws with A Cause, Camp Kidwell, and much more.
