My name is Richard Roth and I write this letter with great excitement, as my family and I have the honor and privilege of being named Executive Director of Camp Beechpoint. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves.
My wife Diema (Die-ee-muh) and I have been married for 12 years with ten children. Yes, ten children. Richard (12), Meredith (11), Lillian (9), Abbigail
(9), Malachi (7), Klaira (6), Julia (4), Stephen (3), Owen (1), and Braxton (due early summer). We have called the community of Allegan home for five
years and for the past few years have seen the impact camp can have on all those who step on the grounds. We believe camp is and will continue to be a place that not only changes lives through finding hope, but also a place where people can find purpose in Christ. Our family is in awe of the opportunity to serve such a unique and life-changing ministry.
In the summer of 2020 my wife and I were able to engage with both campers and staff on many levels, igniting a love and passion for the mission of this ministry (serving urban and under-resourced youth) that we never imagined could exist in our hearts. Having personally grown up as urban and under-resourced youth, now more than ever, we know that we are called to serve the Kingdom of God through Camp Beechpoint, to partner with our sponsors and donors to lead hundreds of thousands more to a deeper love and relationship with Christ.
A little background on myself; I attended community college before transferring to Western Michigan University to pursue a degree in Education. It was at Western Michigan where I felt the hard pull toward vocational ministry, I then transferred to Spring Arbor University and graduated with a degree in Christian Ministries Leadership. I was ordained as a Pastor shortly thereafter. For 11 years I have worked in both the public school realm (in
under-resourced areas) and as a Pastor within the Church. I have a passion for truly role-modeling the love of Christ and seeing people trust Jesus with all of their beings.
With my background and experiences, I believe my family is uniquely equipped to honor Beechpoint’s past while stewarding the ministry into the future. With that, I would like to extend an invitation for each one of you to get to know me better. Please do not hesitate to reach out and schedule a time for us to meet either in person, online or over the phone. We all look forward to watching God unfold his plans into the future.
