Chamber Celebrates Hubbard Street Businesses

Life Pyramid owner Kelly McLean with State Tribute, presented by Josh Przygocki, Director of Constituent Relations, State Senator Aric Nesbitt’s office.

The Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce hosted ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Life Pyramid Massage & Oils and Riverfront Nutrition on Saturday, October 30.  The cool and drizzly morning did not dampen the enthusiasm and warm wishes of friends, family, and customers for the two Hubbard Street businesses.

Josh Przygocki, Director of Constituent Relations for State Senator Aric Nesbitt, was in attendance and presented State Tributes signed by Nesbitt and State Representative, Mary Whiteford.

Life Pyramid Massage & Oils is no new business in Allegan.  Located at 229 Hubbard St., owner, Kelly McLean, has been providing massage and natural healing services in Downtown Allegan for more than 20 years.  Her clients may choose from an array of massage disciplines including Therapeutic, Deep Tissue, Warm Bamboo, and Reflexology, Crystal Healing, Reiki, Hot Stone Therapy, Aroma Therapy, and Rain Drop Therapy.  A new offering to this list is Frequency Therapy treatment.

But the reason for the ribbon-cutting at this time was to celebrate Life Pyramid’s 2019 expansion to include a storefront providing retail sales of all-natural soaps, lip balms, lotions, crystals, topical pain cream, and essential oils, as well as other locally sourced gift items.  Of note, Life Pyramid carries Spero-Hope deodorants and body butters that are aluminum-free, paraben-free, and chemical-free.

Originally, this celebration was scheduled for April 23, 2020, but was delayed by the COVID 19 pandemic.  The Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to finally give Life Pyramid its due with this much-deserved celebration.

Nicole & Cassie Kimbro, along with their Riverfront Nutrition Team and surrounded by customers and supporters, cut the ribbon during their grand opening celebration.

Riverfront Nutrition, on the other hand, is brand new to Allegan.  Mother-daughter owners, Nicole and Cassie Kimbro introduced themselves to Allegan this summer with free Cardio Drumming Classes at Mahan Park (now inside in the lower level of the Griswold Auditorium on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 PM) and opened the doors to their brick and mortar beverage bar at the end of August.  Customers stop in daily for Full Meal-Replacement Shakes, Loaded Coffee, Energy Bombs, and Oat Bowls.  Cooler weather has added soup to Riverfront Nutrition’s menu.

Nicole Kimbro took the leap three years ago, leaving the company she had worked at for 20 years, to open her own business with her daughter, Cassie, in Gobles.  From the beginning, and with the encouragement of a friend, the Kimbros looked to relocate the business to Allegan.  “We had a vision and didn’t stop until we made it happen,” Nicole said.

In addition to the Cardio Drumming classes, Riverfront Nutrition offers free wellness profiles and hosts weight loss challenges.  Fit Camps and walking clubs are slated for Spring 2022.

Riverfront Nutrition is located at 239 Hubbard St., Suite 1 in Downtown Allegan and is open Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Saturday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Congratulations to the Kimbros.
