The Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its annual Evening of Recognition awards gala to be held on February 19, 2015 at The Silo Banquet Facility.
Nominations are being accepted for the following award categories:
BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR – Recipient of this award presents a positive professional image and have a successful business background. They are respected in the business community, promote the Allegan area, are successful within their profession, and have contributed considerable time in civic organizations.
LIFETIME SERVICE AWARD – Recognizes individuals who have contributed a considerable amount of time to community service and have worked to improve the quality of life in the Allegan community.
COMMUNITY PROMOTION & MEDIA AWARD – An individual or organization who, through the use of communication vehicles, promotes a positive community atmosphere.
COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION – An organization that has provided a positive influence within the community. These organizations uphold the ideals of community service and have established or maintain programs/projects which have benefited the community.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PERSON – An individual who has shown unselfish desire to serve our community in one or more capacities. This individual has spent considerable time working to improve the quality of life in the Allegan area.
COMMUNITY PRIDE & BEAUTIFICATION – An individual or organization who has contributed to or provided for community pride and beautification.
PUBLIC SAFETY PERSON OF THE YEAR – Any area fire safety, law enforcement or emergency medical team personnel that have gone above and beyond the call of duty and who have played a vital role in our community.
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR – A healthcare provider who has dedicated his or her career to improving the lives of patients as well as the overall healthcare in our community. A healthcare provider who truly signifies involvement, professional achievements, accomplishments and contributions in their profession.
EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR – An individual who has dedicated his or her life to improving the overall quality of education in the Allegan community. (i.e. teachers, counselors, administrators, board members, etc.)
YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR – an Allegan-area youth under the age of 21 that has displayed the spirit, skills, and drive of an entrepreneur by one or more of the following; founding their own micro-enterprise, being proactive in a community leadership program that targets economic development, starting/expanding a non-profit organization, or demonstrating extraordinary commitment and service to the betterment of the Allegan-area.
Nominations are due by Thursday, January 22, 2015.
