The Allegan District Library provides modern and traditional library resources and services to meet the evolving educational, recreational and informational needs of the community; encouraging reading and learning by all; and conserves our national and local cultural heritage.
We inspire our community to explore and learn throughout their lifetime by providing access to resources, technology, and welcoming spaces.
We provide access to resources for both fiction and non-fiction E-Books, Audiobooks, hardcopy books, periodicals, videos, CDs, DVDs, and Music.
We have an on-staff reference librarian to help you research any subject for any age group in-house and through interlibrary loans, as well as our large genealogy and local history collection.
The library has a children’s and teens’ area staffed by an on-staff children/teen librarian who provides both children and teen programming and cooperative resources with area schools.
The Allegan District Library has computer stations and WiFi available along with a fully, computerized card catalog system. Through the internet, users have access to a variety of databases meeting informational needs in the area of:

- Tests for various occupations and GED
- Free computer classes of all types and how to use a computer
- Job Accelerator for those looking for work with segments devoted to

Through our online resources and the many varied resources here in the library, we help patrons find whatever they need as well as be a comfortable, friendly community space.
We have an active calendar of events offered free to the community.
These resources are meant to entertain, inform and educate all library patrons. For our younger patrons, some restrictions apply to internet usage.
