Simply Give: Hungry for Christ and Meijer Partner to Provide Hunger Relief

Campaign set to run through Oct. 24

Hungry for Christ is pleased to announce a partnership with Meijer located at 746 E. 16th Street, Holland, to provide much-needed relief to local families facing food insecurity through the retailer’s customer-driven food pantry donation program, Simply Give.  Thanks to the generous support from the Meijer Simply Give campaign and our community, Hungry for Christ will be able to feed hungry families through our Family Pantry & Backpack Sharing Programs.

This year has presented many challenges for all of us. Due to COVID-19, those living paycheck to paycheck face wage losses and gaps in childcare from school closures. Hungry for Christ has been challenged by the shift in demand and the need in our community.

The Meijer Simply Give program is truly a blessing because, with each campaign, it replenishes the shelves of more than 250 food pantries in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.  However, the program goes above and beyond simply writing a check.  It fosters a sense of social responsibility by encouraging customers to purchase $10 Simply Give donation cards, which are then converted into Meijer food-only gift cards and given to the local food pantry selected by the store.

I want to encourage you to help us fulfill our mission of helping feed the hungry in our communities.  You can do this by either purchasing a food donation card at Meijer or by donating directly to Hungry for Christ. Tell your friends, relatives, neighbors, and co-workers because every dollar makes a difference.

Hungry for Christ is truly grateful for this opportunity and hopes our partnership with Meijer will continue to thrive in the future.
