I write to you today with a sense of both excitement and sorrow. On Monday, December 6, I tendered my resignation as Executive Director of the Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce, effective December 31, 2021.
It has been the honor of my life, these past nine-plus years, to work with our members to grow their businesses in the promotion of economic and community development. I believe that I approached the tasks and duties at hand with passion and enthusiasm, always putting the best interest of Allegan’s business community first. I have enjoyed this work and taken pride in my service to this community. Ultimately, even when deadlines were crushing, administrative functions tedious, and event planning lasting long into the evening, I – to this day – love the why and for whom of this position.
I am certain that I leave the Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce in great standing, ready for its next chapter. None of this would have been possible without a shared passion by the Allegan Area Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors and the amazing support of our members and the community at large for our efforts. For that, I thank all of you.
Between my official “last day” and the onboarding of a new director, I have offered to maintain administrative functions, correspondence, probably the weekly events newsletter, etc. – almost an interim director. This will not include regular office hours, so please reach out by phone or email. From a member’s perspective, it is all of our desire that this transitional period is as seamless as possible.
It is with profound gratitude that I thank you for trusting me with this position.
