The City of Allegan, in association with the Griswold Auditorium and Positively Allegan, is thrilled to announce The April Series: Live Performances at the Griswold.
The April Series is the planned launch of regular entertainment at the historic, 600-seat Griswold Auditorium in Allegan, Michigan and will feature the extraordinary talents of Luke Winslow-King, Lazer Lloyd, Asamu Johnson & The Associates of the Blues, and EG Kight.
Adept at mixing country, blues, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll, and folk influences intuitively and masterfully, Luke Winslow-King kicks off the concert series on April 4. Singer-songwriter Lazer Lloyd, a world-renowned guitarist, will bring his talents to the stage on April 11. The following week, veteran jazz and blues musicians Asamu Johnson & The Associates of the Blues will be “keeping the blues alive” on April 18, while EG Kight, singer-songwriter and guitarist EG, and a preeminent voice in roots music, will showcase her craftsmanship as the closer to the series on April 25.
Doors open at 7pm every Thursday in April for the two hour 8-10pm shows. Tickets are $10 in advance at thegriswoldallegan.com and $15 at the door. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. The Griswold Auditorium is located at 401 Hubbard Street in Downtown Allegan, Michigan.
Allegan’s beloved civic auditorium is an undiscovered gem for most, and as it turns 90 years old in 2019, its resurgence and continued longevity is highly anticipated.
